Bupa Around the Bay

Bupa Around the Bay in a Day is an annual recreational cycling event organised by Bicycle Network Victoria (BNV). Since the event was first run in 1993 it has become Australia’s premier mass participation cycling event, attracting nearly 17,000 riders for its 20th anniversary in 2012.

The event comprises rides to suit all levels of riding experience, ranging in distance from 20km to 250km. All rides take in all, or part of the route around Port Phillip Bay, with some of the longer rides incorporating a ferry ride between Queenscliff and Sorrento.

Registrations for the 2013 event will open to the general public on Monday 15th April 2013.

This year’s event will take place on Sunday 20th October 2013,  with the 250km ride setting off at 5.30am!

Registration fees from the event are used by BNV to help get “More People Cycling More Often”. The charity partner of the event, The Smith Family relies upon riders going the extra mile to do some fundraising and help disadvantaged Australian children to realise their potential through education.
